Widow Care Peer Support Group

We believe in the importance of having a safe, judgement-free space to open up about the pain and grief that stems from the loss of a spouse and having the opportunity to give and receive support from others who have also suffered from the same type of loss. We focus on talking and listening to one another with the goal of lifting each other up and finding ways to support each other.

Our Peer Support Group is currently hosted every Thursday via Zoom (except the 3rd Thursday of each month, when these meetings are held in-person). All of our Peer Support Group meetings (virtual and in-person) are always open to widows and widowers of all ages.

Agenda:

-Discuss group guidelines to ensure safety and confidentiality

-Icebreakers for participants to get to know each other and feel comfortable

-The floor will then be open to anyone who wants to speak about whatever is on their mind-- resurfaced memories, grief, new relationships, whatever it may be.

-Close out the session and offer materials, such as grief resources, other support groups, partner services, etc.
